Steps is a mentorship program bringing together college freshmen and high school seniors. It is run through a partnership between the UW Tacoma Equity and Diversity office and Americorps. We were on a tight budget for this project. The design had to be simple and in black and white. I wanted to present an image that would be empowering for both the college students and the high school students. To do this I created a simple silhouette that could represent a man or woman standing on steps that can double as city buildings. With the student raised above, it gives a feeling of being able to accomplish anything. For this program I created a brochure, handbills and posters.
